About The Materials
Granite is an igneous rock formed when volcanic lava cools beneath the earth’s surface. The internal cooling creates a course or medium-grained texture rich in quartz and feldspar. Granite is extremely resilient and requires no maintenance making it the ideal material for garden and park benches.
About The Design
Our Solid Charcoal Granite Bench has a 40” seat that allows room for two adults to sit comfortably. The seat features a mirror-like polished finish with hand chiseled edges. The legs of the bench are first leveled on the top and base and then are chiseled to match the seat edges. Each of the three pieces of the bench weighs approximately 100 pounds, making transport and set up of our Solid Charcoal Granite Bench quick and easy.
About The Finish
The Polished Finish process includes 7 steps of polishing the stone with progressively finer grit polishing pads after the stone is worked with saws, chisels and grinders. The end result is a finish that is as smooth as glass and beautifully reflective.
The Chiseled edges are created by breaking the stone with a hammer and chisel. This process provides a very rough surface or a slightly irregular finish. The edges of the Solid Charcoal Granite Bench compliment the traditional design perfectly for an overall look of completion.
