About The Design
The Autumn Leaves Stone Bench features thick, sturdy legs and a detailed surface, patterned from real autumn leaves. The bench is molded by expert artisans to capture the detail and texture of the leaves, and then finished by hand using a multi-step process. This original design demonstrates a genuine understanding of garden art - especially texture, patina and the softening effects of age and weather. The weatherproof finish will not peel when exposed to the elements, thus allowing these benches to be used outdoors as well as indoors.
About The Molding and Finishing Process
These heavy-duty, cast stone benches are produced by using a carefully monitored process. First, a team hand pours the liquid cast stone mixture into the crafted mold and utilizes special techniques to remove the air bubbles. The PSI (pounds per square inch) is measured to its optimum level to insure strength and durability in the stone. Once the stone is air dried and gone through an internal quality check, it is then sent to the finishing department where seams are ground and any air holes caused by the pouring process are filled and smoothed. A finisher’s skill is then required in applying the patina and wiping away any excess to highlight detail. This allows every piece to become a unique and original work of garden art.
